I have a 1TB Seagate Barracuda drive out of a Maxtor One Touch that ive been troubleshooting for a friend. I tried a number of things to get it to work by following various forums trying to get the motor to spin up. I think its more than just a bricked seagate drive. I hook up power to it and the drive doesnt spin at all. My last resort is to try a new PCB board. The smooth chip gets really really hot when plugged into power that makes me think that it is faulty. The PCB board i have is 100468979. If anyone has a PCB that would work or some advice it would be appreciated! Thanks!

Easier to find another identical drive in USA, check for pcb p/N
Note : if not the PCB, the drive maybe was dropped and the damage is a seized spindle, probably head damage and if you were unlucky enough media damage also.... OR you have head stiction. All these kind of problems require pro intervention in clean room. Just guessing as I didn't see the drive.

if u looking for PCB - drop ur request in the buying parts part of this forum. There is a reasonable ammount of ppl who can be of help to u. Also if u aply power and the drive does not even spin - it does not sound like a bricked drive. Its a TVS issue , sry cant link it at the moment have to run. Just search for TVS on the forum. Gl.
