The firmware is not an issue on 7200.8 drives. First of all you need to identify problem. See if drive spins up, check if it makes sounds.

Yes it spins and it doesn't make any strange sounds/clicks. i had w7 installed on this hdd if i set my md bios in ide mode the bios see the drive but in ahci mode it just freeze while scanning for drives. my other 3 drives (a seagate 1tb another seagate 300 gb and a WD 160 GB) works fine only this one has problems.

To start u diagnostic´s u need soft wich works by ATA commands ,check if reach readiness, if its fully identified " Model, SN, Capacity, " and check answer´s to read sector commands (20h) checking ATA register´s statud and control answer " IDNF; UNC; ABRT; AMNF ERR, DRDY DSC BSY, DRQ " etc while its reading sector , on deep u can get terminal logs to identified problems over seagate , dont ask me how to did that , search it u will get some answer´s
