My wd600ue hard drive does not load - with some weird clicki

June 6th, 2010, 19:03

Hi all

i have a Western Digital Scorpio WD600UE 60GB 5400 RPM 2MB Cache 2.5"
it accidently fell off my hands right before i plugged it off from the pc (so i guess it spindled a bit before it fell)

anyway, now, when connecting to my pc again i get no sign for any connected drive.

i do hear some weird noise (clicking) from the hard drive when first connected.

you can also watch the youtube video i uploaded to here:

does anyone know what is the problem? can it be fixed? does it worth it? (i dont reallly have some important data on it, but i dont have extra 70$ to spend on a new one...)

Please kindly help or advice.

Thanks in advance,
roy

Fixed? No. Data recovered? Maybe, but it will be more than $70 for sure.

Take your money and buy new HDD. You will never get anyone to recover this for 70 dollars and sounds of it like you have a head problems or some interior problems in the SA.

I think a used or obsolete new 2,5" 60-80 GB is 20$ on the market... get it and replace on the PC. Cheap solution if you can live without your data.
