SEAGATE 500 GB H.D.D NOT DETECTING IN BIOS AND IT HANGS THE PC.
ALSO AFTER OPENING UP I FOUND THAT THE SMOOTH IC (AS WRITTEN ON THE IC'S) IS LITTLE BIT HOTTER THE OTHER IC'S. HOW CAN I FIND THE BAD COMPONENT.

check if the Drive is taking power and Rotating normally without any strange sound it means normal lock issue what happens to it fall down ?

O.K you have access to the "inner sanctum".(no not the S&M site)
The IC can be removed by placing the PCB on a upside down iron set to "wool" , please remember to plug the iron in.

Your drive may be afflicted with the BSY firmware bug.

If I connect this hdd, and i try to enter the cmos setup ultility it hangs and if comes doesn't show up the hdd.
The drive is spinning ok and there are no sounds
I would rather buy a new h.d.d then buy a logic board.
please tell how to check for all the necessary voltages on this logic board.

It was meant to indicate that the problem is not with the PCB, but with the person who is assuming that something needs to be done to/with the pcb instead of taking thirty seconds to search the forum or the internet for one of the 100000000000000000000+ threads about this same problem

How do you know the adapter is working?
If you connect the Tx and Rx wires together, can you see characters being echoed on your screen when you type? If so, and if you now separate the Tx and Rx wires, can you still see echos when you type?

I don't believe your two-transistor circuit will work. AIUI, the "TTL" logic is not 0-5V. The MCU Vcore is 1.2V and its Vio rail would be 2.5 or 3.3V. This means that the drive's TxD signal will not be able to turn off Q1. If you want to adapt this simple circuit, you would need to power it from the drive's Vio rail. Suitable connection points may be the SDRAM or EEPROM power pins, or a more accessible location such as a capacitor or coil in the associated switchmode regulator. You can confirm the voltage level by measuring the remaining pin at the serial connector. This pin will be pulled up to the supply via a resistor.
If you are not comfortable with the above, then a USB Nokia cable would be a non-intrusive alternative.
