Need help with HDD MAXtor

Hi guys....
am new to the forum
i need some help about a hard disk which contains lots of impotant data of

DIAMOND MAX PLUS 9
MAXTOR 80 gb ATA/133

SN: Y35K4SPC

TLA 6YO80L043232611

the prob is that i can longer access it

on bios it is detected as Maxtor calypso
but in my computer it is not there

i use windows xp professional
i dont what to do and where to start in order to repair it.
then i found this forum.
can you plz help if it is possible to be repair
