Hi... I have a new WD Portable HDD 320GB that when plugged in is recognised and can be seen on 'my computer'.
Problem is it keep on requesting to re-format the drive over and over again.
What is problem and what can I do get it fixed?
Is it possible to Fix it?

If it is new - what are you using to initialize this disk and format it? In windows you computer in device manager try and delete your partition information and make a new one and format it again. If this continue to happen try to put the drive direct on your computer to test it from there. If you do not have a problem then change your external enclosure on this one. If the problem continues try and RMA this drive there could be problems in it. WD is not the best drive in the entire world and it would not be a shock if it was this drive giving you these problems on it.

I think it's WD portable with USB interface(PCB).
If the data not important then repartition if the drive fails then RMA.

Thanks for the Input.
I'm not trying any data from the drive as there is none. As I mention, after I plug in system recognises the drive and then screen pops up with the format your disk message and run over and over again after each completion
Its a gone case I believe.
Anything else that I can try before i throw in the towel on drive?

When you say repair, is a hardware or software issue in your expert opinion?
Would you go thru the trouble getting it repaired?
I'm out of option currently as a number of 'expert' whom I've approached doesnt know how to tackle this issue except going RMA
