I swapped 5v and 12v.................that's how i killed this board
The fuse f1 was open.
I replace the fuse witha 0 ohm resistor and applied 5v alone on bare board.
At 5v input it is drawing about 1.0A.U1 is geeing hot canot touch.I assume it is fried
any opinion?

I think your PCB is cooked. Hopefully the adaptive info in U6 is not.

u6 is not getting hot
The regulator stepping down 5 to 3.3 so I hope only u1 is bad
Next step is swapping u6 to a good closely matched board
Any opnion about getting a closely matched board.What are the things to look for

I am waiting for the donor board
this is what I ordered .The bad one is from 100gb drive.The board I am going to replace(with u6 from bad board assuming u6 is good) is from a 160gb drive
any one has any comments?
