Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

As per topic, I have a Samsung HD502ij,
as i was using it the other day, it abruptly decided to stop writing to the drive. Read was fine. It is filled with data, and i was able to copy all of it off the drive.
Now when i try to write to it, it writes approximately for 1 second, so only small bits of data gets written, and then it crashes and doesn't detect.
I tried deleting the partition, repartitioning and formatting it. That worked out well, but all the same, the drive refuses to be written to.
Any gurus can shed some light here?
Thanks !

Can be 3 things. 2 are fixable, 1 is not. I give you the last - headstack damaged or a particular failure so it becomes ' read only '. This can be confirmed analyzing what the drive answer when trying to write. In all 3 case you can't do nothing. If the problem is 1 or 2 we fix it but have to send the drive and it is not worth it.
