MHZ2160BH G1 vs MHZ2160BH G2 - what's the difference?

September 17th, 2010, 9:35

Hello guys,
want to ask You a question related to MHZ2160BH disk, there is a G1 and G2 version.
Does anybody know if PCB in these two models are interchangeable ?
I've got MHZ2160BH G1, it's hard to find the exact donor with matching firmware, I found the G2 version with the same firmware and I am curious if can I use its PCB to verify if the damage is related to PCB?

By the way, a propos the MHZ2160BH G2 version, please take a look to the picture below.
There is a weird nomenclature on the label - I marked it in red.

Thanks in advance for reply.

Yes, for this model they are. You can use it to check if PCB is at fault.

I have a MHZ2160BH G2 drive with bad heads.. am planning to swap Platter from that drive to another new/working Fujitsu 160gb drive (luckily it's a single platter drive).
Do i have to match just MHZ2160BH or does it require G1 and G2 to match too?
I need that data (almost drive full)

VoodooPL, do u have a spare drive with bad PCB and good interior?
