Help with Hitachi 1TB HDD, Please.

I have a Hitachi 1 TB HDD internal (Model hdt721010sla360) the circuit board has a chipped part. It will not show up on my computer or under manage it does spin up but stops. I found a replacement board as close to the manufacture date as I could, original was Jan 09 I found Mar 09. Everything matches up except for one sequence of numbers on the actual board. So I attached the board and am using an usb adapter. It still does not show up in my computer but does show up in manager, also it spins up and stays running no weird noises at all. In manager it shows unassigned a drive letter and uninitialized. (I have looked alot online to see if initializing would destroy my data or not but it is unclear and am not willing to find out until i have an solid answer) I have a lot of info, pics family videos I would hate to lose. I have also tried Hirens with no luck drive does not show, as well as two separate recovery programs, pandora and recuva with no luck. I have also tried the drive actually inside of my computer with no luck does not show up at all. Using basic vista, any help would be great, Thank You.

Can we see a detailed photo of the original damaged board?

Yes There is copper wire showing.

If the copper wire is not damaged this should stil work.
Fault is probably something else.

I could be wrong, but I suspect that the two 100uH inductors are chokes (filters) for each of the +5V and +12V supplies. The damaged ferrite core would result in a reduction in the inductance, but it shouldn't affect the operation of the drive. The fact that it spins up at all indicates that the coil wires are intact.

If you insist on replacing the PCB, I believe you will need to transfer one or both of the two 8-pin ICs (above the RAM and to the right of the LSI MCU) from patient to donor.

It's not a PCB problem. Your drive has SA problem caused by dying head
Head stack may need to be replaced and SA fixed in order to recover data
I suggest you find a reputable DR company

Coil is ok as far as I can tell.

As far as removing parts from one PCB to another, I don't feel safe doing that.

Is a dying head a common thing the drive was brand new when i got it. Less then two years old. Would a lot of moving, adding and deleting files cause this.

Thanks to everyone's idea's I was hoping it was something I could do.

There are a lot of causes and concauses but a post mortem diagnose is useless.

If it spins up and stops, your heads are whacked - definitely not SA

With original PCB it spins up and stops

With replaced PCB it stays spun up and shows up in manager but is not initialized.

Looks like they only way I will get a definite answer is by sending it out to somebody.
