hi my media player died and the hard drive needs to be replaced
so i bought a new drive and was wondering how can i change the serial number
of the new drive
its because the old hard drive is married to the firmware
so it checks the serial number against the drive
i would like to change the number of the drive
how easy can i do this with the pc-3000 is this a easy to do

hi sorry the drive in qeastion is a hitachi HTSS41616J9AT00
works great but all of a sudden it makes a scratching noise

You can manually edit SN00 module and IDNT to change information .

The problem is that beside the SN the DVR *may* have other locks
