Samsung HM321HI

Good Day All,

I have a Samsung laptop drive that had diet coke dumped onto the keyboard and onto the HD. Now the drive is not accessible. The PCB was sticky from the soda residue.

Can this board be swapped out without replacing the rom...it does not appear to be on the board.

Thanks for any thoughts on this.

The short answer is no. If ROM is not external then it will be embedded into the processor and transfer of this is very difficult, even with the right tools.

There are alternative options, but all will require tools and equipment which are available in most recovery outfits and not commercially viable for a single repair.

Where are you located?
