WD1600JS Issues

November 3rd, 2010, 13:10

Hey guys,

I'm working on a WD1600JS and having some problems. We've completed a couple of head swaps and can view the data after a smart hotswap, but can only read the primary FW modules. We can write the secondary modules, but can't read them. When imaging, we can image in chunks for a few seconds but then the drive clicks some, missing a chunk of data. It then goes back to imaging as normal for a few seconds. Do you think the issue here is probably that the heads are slightly off alignment?

Thanks

Just tried it - after rebuilding in DDI I get all abort errors...
