Seagate momentus 5400.3 80 GB problem

Seagate Momentus 5400.3 80 GB
MDL: ST980811AS
FIRMWARE: 3.CDD


I did head stack replacement, the hdd is ready but now the disc is recognized with another model, serial and firmware.

Plug your numbers into Seagate's warranty validator:
http://support.seagate.com/customer/war ... dation.jsp

Compare the date code on the label against the YWW (Year / Week) date codes on the chips.

Seagate date code calculator:

I believe the date of manufacture may also be stored in the SA.

There are many things to "do" with a PCB / drive without touching a screw, the OP is a pro.

I think the drive is password protected , remove password and see what happens.
