WD5000AAKB logic short

hi.

i connect WD5000AAKB to ide cable on PC
than press PC power button
PC don't power on.

after disconnect hdd
PC don't power on.

so unplug 24pin power cable on M/B and plug in power cable
PC power on.

i think WD5000AAKB PCB has logic short.

i don't have same PCB.
so i want to try fix PCB.

anyone can advice for PCB fix?

PCB number is 2060-701508-001 REV A

Measure the resistance between ground and each of the +5V and +12V inputs at the power connector, on the 200 ohms range of your multimeter.

Test TVS diodes D3 and D4, and zero-ohm resistors R67 and R64 near the Molex power connector.

BTW, a straight board swap probably won't work. Each board has unique, drive specific information that must be transferred from patient to donor. The serial flash location at U12 is unpopulated, so these data are internal to the Marvell MCU.
