Seagate 7200.11 Bad sectors

December 9th, 2010, 13:03

Hello,

We have 7200.11 with degraded medium,
most at MFT location.

When we read data, at this badsectors, we loose connection with the drive.

Does anybody have solution for this?

The drive's data is OK except MFT

Can you image this drive backwards with your tools. After you image it backwards you can use one of your other recovery programs to access this data from it.

Imaging is not possible. Controller lost connection to drive after 1 error

Do you own a Deepspar, Atola, ACE Data Extractor. or Salvation Data Data compass. One of these imagers shuold do the trick for you on this one. They are designed to keep the drive in running and to handle errors on them and do retries and things like this. What are you using to try and image this drive?
