WD10EADS-00L5B1 BSY

December 11th, 2010, 7:30

Hi guys (girls, too? ;)),

I have a WD10EADS-00L5B1 which does recal, but just stays BSY. After hot swap I was able to read the modules, but I cannot find the source of the problem. Attaching full SA tracks -- can you see any problem in there?

Thanks!

If you try to read SA without hotswap, can you read anything?
Is mod 11 readable?

What happens when you replace the PCB with a reprogrammed ROM?

And beside SA tracks, can you read modules by ID after hotswap?

Only very few: 01, 30 and 47 :(

I believe one of the modules is damaged, but I cannot find out which one :?

Ok, since I have not had success with this one I would like to kindly ask if anyone could fix this ROM / SA issue for some bucks. It makes no sense for me to buy the PC3K etc.

Thanks and a Happy New Year!
:druunk:

P.S. To summarize the problem briefly: I have a WD10EADS-00L5B1 drive which just stays BSY after power on. After a hot swap, I can read the SA by tracks, but not by modules.
