Does anyone know the stripe size for this model? Drives imaged fine, but I seem to be missing something...

Hi,
I never dealed with one of them, but you should start to check where MBR starts and what is the file system that holds on.

By default it based on HFS+ (Mac OS) and 64Kb (stripe size) .
What soft do you use for destiping?

I generally use R-studio, which didn't seem to be working for this even with 64k.
Ended up using donor G-Raid enclosure same make/model, worked flawlessly.
G-Raid tech support gave this initial answer. For future reference, I'll follow up with them and see what they come up with.
Hello XXXXXX,
Thank you for contacting Hitachi Technical Support. To better assist you with this we would need to know the exact drives that you are using. We would need the part and serial numbers off of the drive. Once we get this information, I am talking with the engineers to get you the anwser. We can not guarantee, thqat we will be able to assist you, as we don't support reconstructing a RAID with our enclosures.

Matt Martinez

512Mb for what?
Maybe he meant 512Kb no?
December 17th, 2010, 14:53
I presumed he meant 512k, but that doesn't seem to do it using R-studio. RAID reconstructor doesn't find anything useful either.
I'd like to figure out for future reference.
To be clear, I got this to work already using donor enclosure, but that isn't always feasible.

If you have a donor enclosure, and can play with it, you can discover in an easier way the config. But depends of course if the user just steps up for the wizard to configure the raid or if he makes custom configs.

Donor enclosure back to the donee. Can configure the RAID using custom configs.
