Seagate ST3250310AS 3.AAB

December 15th, 2010, 22:29

I have one Seagate hard disk, ST3250310AS 3.AAB. I believe, the head is having a problem because the hard disk does not detect by the computer and also heard the sounds of the hard disk spins fast and slow. So I get a donor hard disk which has same model, firmware, part number and country code.

However, after I replaced the head with the donor, the hard disk still not detect and still produce same spinning sounds. Then I thought it might because of the motor. After do platter swap, the hard disk is now detected by MHDD but when run the SCAN command, after a few sectors, there are many X's shown on terminal.

In your opinion, what is the real problem of this hard disk? I will be very grateful if you can give some advices or solutions to solve this problem.

Thank you for your help.
