Question about PCB HD

Hi,

I would like to know what is saved on chip on PCB of the HD.

The file system ?

The list of files put on Hard disk ?

or what ?

Hi.

well in a regular HDD, no storage is made on a pcb chip...

you have basicaly two controllers, electric engine controller and a controller/processor that regulates the comunications and the read/write head arm, this one has some data code like a bios to boot the drive and go to the service track and load the firmware

you have also a memory chip that it is used for buffering and initializing the firmware

the firmware is loaded from a service track in the drive wich you don't have access normally... only with special and expensive tools
