seagate 1tb drive photo recovery

January 8th, 2011, 18:06

hi anyone can give me advice

i got taken some xmas photos of my family

my wife was carrying the brand new seagate drive in her bag at the airport
and it fell out of there

i can hook it up see all the files there in windows and atola imager see the folders

but when i do a recovery all im getting is the yellow folders
and none of the jpegs
they are coming up zero bite

i ran atola imager and done the test on the drive and it says
its working fine no issues at all

very weird problem

could this be a problem with the write head possible damaged in the unit
but diagnostic comform its ok

any advice as i like to recovery my family xmas photos of this year :)

tried to reimage with getdata but again yellow folders no images

First of all, image the drive and check the results of the image.

After that you can open the folders and check the JPG files in hex to see if they have at least correct header first of all.

You do data recovery for a living?

Is this just a joke? Don't you have copies of your pics? Don't you have backups?

yes i do data recovery for a living

photos on the main hard drive but the camera data was wiped when i checked it at home
so it must had got wiped at the airport

its a crappy seagate brand new possible bad sectors if the photos are on those sectors
then goodbye data for every

which hence the pros can not sort out

i got the nice yellow folders but no image remains zero

heads check out fine
