Maxtor 6V080E0 platters

January 15th, 2011, 2:00

Can anyone tell me how many platters are in a Maxtor 6V080E0? I'm considering a head swap, but was wondering if it might be easier to swap the platter(s). That is if there's only 1. The data is not critical and I'd like to give it a try. A picture would be nice too. Thanks

One. Swapping head will be easier instead of swapping platter.

Thanks a lot! So from what I'm reading, I need to find a doner drive with the same Code: (VA11630) and same 4 letter code underneath (N,M,G,A)?
