st3500620as big problem

February 25th, 2011, 0:50

Hello all !
Seagate st3500620as drive is not visible in bios, but what is strange - connected via usb-sata interface gives (correctly) visible hdd model (but nothing more). I've tried in other computers, with other cables, if you would ask :)
After connection to terminal it only reports:
DiagError 00000003
Delaying 5000 msec

Jumping to Power On Reset
Rst 0x10M
(P) SATA Reset
PASSPackage Verified
Drive AMPS Configuration has been modified from compiled defaults.
Drive must be re-initialized to controller firmware defaults by re-downloading controller firmware
DO NOT SHIP WITHOUT FIRST RE-DOWNLOADING CONTROLLER FIRMWARE OR RESETTING TO DEFAULTS!

As far as I know there wasn't any drive manipulations nor failed firmware upgrade tries.
Because I've never seen such an error message before, I would ask if my assumptions about hdd conditions are right. As I understand diagerror 3 means rom checksum error, which equals damaged firmware. Is that sa part error or is that problem with rom part of it ? I must admit that I'm little dizzied about that msg. :/
What can be done to restore data from it ? Is there any hope ?

Thanks in advance
