Help with possible data recovery

I have a 500 GB Western digital Harddrive that I have been using in a drobo. It will not spin is what I have been told. My thoughts have been can replacing the PCB board fix that? If so where can I get a 2061-701477-000AB XS 4C04 0VXW 7 0005220 7225 board.
Also, I have toy with getting a new 500GB hard drive and switching out the platters. I have family videos and would like to recover but I really do not want to spend thousands of dollars to do it. Can anyone help?

Have you tried connecting your drive directly to your computer's motherboard?

BTW, if the drive doesn't spin up, or try to spin up, then the PCB is most likely at fault. Please do not even think about opening your drive.

fzabkar is right.... "do not even think about opening your drive."

If you're lucky, your PCB will have a 8-leg chip at U12 which would have to be switched over to a good PCB. If not (and there's no U12) then you will need pro assistance to "manufacture" a new PCB from platter info.

Check "TVS" first though (search this forum for more details)

Yes That is what it looks like. It is the same shape I will have to remove it to see the the side you have pictured.

How would I connect directly to my motherboard? I have an IMac computer.
