Linksys NAS NSS4000 Raid Failed

March 14th, 2011, 14:28

Hello,

I work for a data recovery company, we have received a linksys NAS NSS4000 that had suffered a failed hard drive. The failed drive was replaced by the client and a rebuild was successfully completed according the logs on the NAS. The Volume status is online showing 33% capacity used but none of the data, if it still exists can be accessed.

All of the drives in the NAS have been tested and verified to be in good condition. The client has sent away the failed drive for replacement and it is no longer available.

Were looking for some assistance with the recovery. Any Advice on rebuilding the array or remote assistance if anyone is interested in assisting us. We believe its using an XFS filesystem, we have not been able to determine block size, order or disk order for manual rebuild. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

A data recovery company that cannot rebuild raid 5 and XFS file systems? hmmm, bet it doesn't state that on your website.
