Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

I tried several tools , but somehow they are not technically perfect.I am looking for a solution which can identify scsi controller all by itself and detect all disk parameters like s/n firmware etc so as to choose source and destination.( tools i tested do not show s/n and firmware so for 2 identical disks its difficult to identify right disk )
I will be thankful to know experts advice.
