Samsung 80Gb HDD F / W ZH100-47

Hard drive scans all of the time, krrr krrr. Why is it scans? Installing Windows. Initially, the procedure was started, and suddenly krrrr, krrr. I did a reboot, Windows will not load up anymore. Says that Windows is not installed. Hard drive shows error # 732. Disk has bad sectors. Are the bad sectors can be repaired? Is the FW update will help? S.M.A.R.T is turned off. I do not know why?

Your problem description is vague.

Try a comprehensive SMART diagnostic. Look for reallocated, pending, or uncorrectable sectors.

The problem is simple, instead .

It can be a firmware problem , head problem or surface problem.

In all the case above, without the necessary K-H and equipment it is impossible to fix it completely.

Moreover it is a 80GB drive, rather old and with a value of 10$ if not less on the aftermarket.

I wrote in haste. After I read myself, and did not understand, sorry. I enclose a picture. The disc is full of bad sectors. ~ 4 days and I've improved a little more behind. I do not know whether the sectors will be lost or come back?

If this was my drive and I didn't know much about data recovery, I would download a hirens bootcd and scan with mhdd in DOS.

Useless. The problem is elsewhere.

Can I upgrade F / W?

Useless.

P.S. either the explanations are not clear or what you hear is not what you want to hear . Once for all :

1) The drive may have a surface problem (degradation) and you need specific knowhow AND/OR equipment and resources to perform technical procedures to fix it (if possible, and depending what happened eithere these procedures will fail and the drive has to be discarded). I CAN'T TELL NEITHER GIVE YOU ANYTHING.
2) You can also have another problem and in this case the drive has reached EOL.
3) The drive is a small, old (>5 years old most probably) drive that has a value of 10$ or less. Instead of trying to repair itand use it = make a time bomb of it as it will fail soon due to mechanical EOL, get a new drive.
