My hdd WD1600bjkt-75f4t0 decided (out to the blue) to die. Can anyone suggest a professional service to recover my lost archived emails?

Is it a board fault, a logical problem (bad sectors), or a physical problem? Does the drive spin up? Does it make any noises?
