issues with Hitachi HDS721050CLA362

June 22nd, 2011, 20:24

Hi,
i am having issues with the above drive. drive will spin up, and become ready, will not show id and cannot be identified by PC3K
Currently this drive is unsupported by the tool.
i have rules out issues with the board as the board works fine on the donor drive

suspecting either head issue or firmware issues

looking for any ideas to proceed as pc3K does not support model

Thank you in advance

Got pretty much similar issues.

Original drive was dropped and heads were bad. Replaced heads and now drive does not click, but comes DRDY after a while (wiit quiet "retry" noises) but with no ID.

Suspect FW issues, but like you say UDMA has no support.

I understand that HRT has support for this model, but not in English yet. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong?
