WD WD6400AAVS

June 29th, 2011, 8:09

Hi

I have this drive and I want to check how many heads it has.
I have checked the WD Document library and this model doesn't appear. Am I going blind?!?!!?

If someone can send me to the right direction, I appreciate.

Thanks

Have a look here: http://www.wdc.com/en/library/sata/2879-701229.pdf
It's the same weight as the WD5000AADS, which has 1 platter 2 heads, so I would imagine the WD6400AAVS also has 2 heads.

IIRC, these typically have two platters and four heads. But don't take that as gospel. :D

Safe mode does not work to see head map?

For what I could find, this model uses 320GB platters, so there is 4 heads/2 platters.
