Files to be reovered was gone!

July 14th, 2011, 21:47

HI Team!

I hope you can help me gurus!, :(
Here is my scenario:

1. My partitioned Drive I: lost all the files. I don't know why?
2. Checked properties of Drive I and showed me that it's a FREE storage. (45GB Free of 45GB)
3. Downloaded Recover My Files application and I saw all the files. But I did not recover the files , yet because I don't have the license key. (At least I know that the files are there)
4. When to a friend to copy some files and paste it on my Drive I.
5. Now Drive I' property is used. (44.3GB free of 45GB)
6. Then from my Drive I, I cut and paste it on my extra partition.
7. Now Drive I is free again. (45GB Free of 45GB)
8. Used Recover My Files application again, and the files that it first detected (the ones that I needed) were gone. WHat it saw was the recent files from my friend that I moved from DRIVE I to extra partion.
9. Repeated steps 8. no change
10 Tried using other software. no change.

Huhu.

Questions:
1. Why was the first batch of files gone?
2. Is it possible that I may have overwritten the first batch files with the ones that I copied from my friend?

Guys please help.
Pictures and personal videos of my family are very important to me here.

:) GOd bless! and more power to HDD GURUS!

Let me get this right...

You copied data TO the drive that you scanned and found your data, and wonder why the old data was overwritten?

 Your files are probably still there, well most of them but you won't get the same results. Try getdataback.
