Dear All,
I have a WD3200AAKS - 75L9A0 hard disk which ceased to work. It couldn't be detected by the system and I couldn't boot into window7. I keep receiving the following error message: 'No boot service available'. So, I tried to check for it in the BIOS. The BIOS couldn't detect its model name and lists its capacity as 'Unknown'. So, I guess it couldn't be detected by the BIOS...
I removed the hard disk and, while holding it in my hand, I powered the pc. I felt it spinning ok with no strange sound. From reading several threads in various forums, I found out that most probably the firmware needs replacement. I couldn't find obvious burning sites at the PCB and most probably it is working fine.
While searching through this forum, I found it very useful with some knowledgeable people hanging around. So, what I'm looking for is a Pro who can help me replace the firmware and get the disk running again at least to retreive my lost data.
Please let me know how much it would cost to do this. I'm also happy if you can refer me to somewhere else.
PS. I've attached images of the Hard disk and PCB with all needed info..
Any help is much appreciated...
