Can i unlock my WD Blu scorpio WD3200BEVT?

August 7th, 2011, 12:13

Hello everyone!
So here its my problem , some time ago i upgraded my toshiba satellite's HDD form this 320 gb(it came with) to a 1 TB HDD , i sold my toshiba satellite a while ago , and now i thought i would use some extra gb to my new desktop. I install it on my desktop and it is listed on the list of my devices but disk manager cannot access it , tried a lot of third parties partitioning tools but nothing seems to recognize the disk. I tried installing it on an other notebook (acer aspire) , as soon as it boots up it asks for a password , i didn't use a password when i had the toshiba notebook , i don get it , asking a password i didn't set. I don't care about the data it has in it i just want to use the HDD for extra space (for the moment all i have in it is the win7 OS toshiba had isntalled) , the lame support page of WD just tell me to ask the manufacture of the notebook , and i don't have the toshiba anymore as i said earlier , it is driving me crazy , i have something and i was thinking if is there anyway i update the firmware (and would this remove this password or not?). It seems to me this is a pretty serious forum so i think i will get some help.
Thanks in advance! :)

Sound like ATA password...
Maybe this thread can help : http://forum.hddguru.com/unlocking-ata-password-for-western-digital-t8374.html
Otherwise you will have to send it to a DR pro who has a PC3000 for exemple !
