Firstly whats the fault?
The rom is on the square chip in the middle with the big M on it.
Not DIY will need a PC3000, Atola or Salvation Data doctor to write the contents to the donor.

Loki.
So luckily I have PC3000 and Atola
The PCB is dead BUT the heads are alive.
I see a chip which look like a small rom chip but not sure that it is.
IS it with the Q2 mark on the PCB itself?

Hi,
It's embebeded ROM, so it's inside CPU.
Is your patient PCB damaged?
What's the issue with it?

ROM info is stored in Marvell chip (processor)

Sorry for my ignorance but have you tested the diodes (D3, D4) & Resistors (64 & 67) ?
As I stated befor the ROM is the big square chip with the big M on it. (as the U12 is empty)
& yes you are lucky to have a PC3000 wish I had one

Very bad, or not?
The PCB itself stay cold when power is connected. I have the following doner for that case:

So you can use donor PCB to access at least SA tracks, and from that point on you can rebuild ROM from SA data.

Yes, dmarques is correct
Connect the donor PCB and follow the instructions in PC3000-UDMA to restore your ROM from the SA tracks.
