Hello,
I am new in this forum and working with disk as well. My problem is the next:
I have a Powervault MD3000i with 11 disk Seagate Chetah SAS 300GB 15K, especifically ST3300655SS
I was trying to change one disk which is faulty for one Seagate Chetahh SAS 300DG 15K5 Serial: ST3300657SS. The probblem is I bought this disk directly from Seagate but I cannot Update the DELL firmware for this disk. I have trying using the software give by DELL but it does not work. The Firmware from Seagate is the 008 and I would like to change it with the DELL firmaware S528 but is not succesfull.
I appreciate if somebody has done before and can explain me how to do it.

I have a similar situation. Were you ever able to get the drive flashed with the Dell firmware? If so how?
Thanks,
Chris

Seagate Enterprise drives have a FW lock on them. You cannot easily change from OEM to OEM

Sorry, my memory failed me. I thought the above thread was about upgrading HP firmware to Seagate retail firmware. Instead it describes how to apply a retail firmware update to a retail Seagate SAS HDD by using the firmware updater utility in an OEM update package (HP).
