help repairing Calypso III

I have corrupted firmware on maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 80GB
model # 6Y080L0030403, can anyone help in recovering the data?
The drive will not spin. if I replace the locigboard, then the heads crash.

Dear friend get your hard disk to a recovery lab if your data is important. Do not do it by yourself you may damage the head and platter this will make situation worst + recovery charges will also excede if it get more damage.

Do you disagree that if I can put the old logicboard back in and get the drive spinning, I can get the firmware updated?
