Seagate's 3TB GoFlex externals have 4KB LBAs, as do WD's 3TB externals. The actual hard drive still uses 512-byte LBAs (512e), but the bridge IC performs the 4KB-512B translation. The drive then translates the 512-byte LBAs to 4KB physical sectors.

Did you get anywhere with your HM321HX drive ?

Did you confirm if it really has 1024 bytes per physical sector ?
