seagate family airplane 1500Gb motor stuck

October 9th, 2011, 14:24

I have unstuck the motor with Nikola' tool for seagate, it worked very well, in 10 minutes drives could spin.
But now the noise is like "airplane", there are also some vibration.
The drive after 12-15 seconds goes to READY, ID's wrong (pls see picture)

Somebody had same issue after restoration of a motor?

There are also many vibrations.

Too much vibration to allow heads to read SA properly.

Drive needs spindle change.

I think using brute force method to free spindle is a bad idea, it should not be considered now given the tools which are available. Too much platter wobble will result in head crash.
