Hello, I have been dealing with a WD 500gb ext. hdd. Usb connector on usb pcb broke and when re-soldered it would show unallocated space in disk management. Took it to a Data Recovery Center where it was deemed unrecoverable. About a month and half ago I stumbled across this forum. I kept searching threads and read about Partition Find and Mount. After some time, I decided to try it. Scanned the drive, mounted it to a letter and there my data was. 80 gb of videos, pictures and music was all there. So, if any of you are in a similar situation you could try that program. I'm not too sure what exactly was wrong with my drive but it lost it's ability to assign itself a drive letter. Successfully copied all my data and only spent $30 on new usb pcb and $60 on another drive. Thanks to all those who read my posts and took the time to respond.
