Remove enclosure for Iomega eGo 2TB for Mac

I have a 2TB Iomega eGo portable hard drive for Mac that stopped mounting. It appears that the problem may be with the power supply; since I have a Synology DiskStation server, I decided to remove the hard drive from the Iomega and put it into the Synology to see if it worked that way. I popped off the top cover of the Iomega with no problem but am not sure how to actually get the drive out of the enclosure without damaging it.

Can anyone give me any guidance here?

Here's a stock photo of the drive, along with pictures of my drive taken from overhead with the top removed and from the bottom. (The "top" that I'm referring to is the side with the iomega logo on it.) I can obviously take pictures from other angles or more detailed shots of any particular aspect of it.

You would likely have to use a screwdriver at the bottom of the drive and lift it. Then just pull the drive out gently out of the SATA-USB adapter. If something is not working smoothly then do not force it.

Do you mean use a screwdriver to pry off the bottom the same way I pried off the top? Or use a screwdriver to pry the drive off of the motherboard, coming at it from the top? Because it seems to be somehow connected and not just snapped into place. Is there someplace I can/should be unscrewing? The drive seems to be attached to the motherboard at the bottom of the enclosure. (Don't know if these new pictures will help at all...)

This is a better suggestion as you can get an actual visual to do this.

As far as my suggestion, no, lift the drive to be able to get your hand and pull out if the sata-USB bridge.

I did that first -- believe me, I tried to find an online how-to before I signed up for a new forum. There actually aren't any results that come up that actually show how to take it apart. The majority of the are "unboxing" vids; there's one that shows disassembly of an Iomega Select Portable drive, but that doesn't help me at all. I've done YouTube searches, Google video searches, and Google image searches. I can't find anything.

As far as my suggestion, no, lift the drive to be able to get your hand and pull out if the sata-USB bridge.

This doesn't seem to work -- or at least I can't see or figure out how to "lift" the drive to snap it out of the sata-USB bridge. (Are you referring to the thing that looks like a motherboard -- is that the bridge?)

Is there anyone who has actually been inside one of these?

Yes, "the motherboard". You want to lift from the opposite end of the drive. Once you clear the plastic casing edge with the bottom of the drive, then pull gently with your hand away from the bridge or motherboard as you call it.

Imagine you are removing a longer object from a drawer. You have to do it in slight acute angle angle, right?

If i remember correctly, there are 4 screws you need to remove in order to lift drive from case.
These screws are at the bottom of the case and are covered with 4 small rubber covers.
Remove these rubbers, unscrew the screws and then disk will float.

Again, i could be mistaken.

Perfect -- thanks, that did it. For anyone else who ever has a similar issue, when you remove those four screws, you can then get access to two more screws you need to unscrew and it comes out pretty easily. It turns out the harddrive was screwed anyway so all that was for naught -- but I did at least find out for sure. Thanks so much for the help.

NVM I figured it out. Two shallow hinges on top and bottom, and 2 sided tape! OMG! Engineering getting worse or it is just me? Off to Fry's to get a "real" enclosure and replacement drive.
