Help with diagnosis ST380819AS

October 17th, 2011, 10:26

Dear All,

I have an ST380819AS FW: 3.04 which is not recognized into BIOS. It makes no noise, just takes some time until post is completed when the drive is connected.

I supplied my self with an identical drive of same firmware and placed the pcb of the faulty drive onto the working one and it works fine.

The pcb from the working drive onto the faulty one has the same effect as its original pcb

Could you please direct me?

Can it be a firmware problem or some kind of physical failure.

I would appreciate your responses.

Firmware issue, need to be fixed with proper tools.
You need a PRO.
shouldn't be so expensive if there are not other problems ( that is impossible to say from here..)

pcimage is from your country, he is a member of this forum, maybe you should contact him.
