Burnt out component on Samsung HM160JC P.C.B.

October 22nd, 2011, 5:28

Hi all,

on PCB diagnosis, you can see there is a burnt out coil very clear. The Marvell IC seems to be affected as well (see images). I can't see any external EEPROM in PCB, so I may assume that Marvell's IC has internal EEPROM.
I have to orther a donor PCB, but before I do, I would like to know if in case the Marvell IC it's really damaged, is possible to get data from HD without programing EEPROM on this Samsung's har drive?

Thanks.

Alex.

Hi you can use another M60 pcb, there should not be any unique parameters on those pcb's.
