Why can't I format my drive?

October 29th, 2011, 11:59

I bought a 1tb Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 st31000524as new off ebay. It was working fine, then I set it up in a freenas enviroment formatted in hfs I think.

I want it to format it back to ntfs to use on a windows machine now. Every which way I look at it, I don't have that option and I'd like to know why.

Here are the screen shots via flicker:

my computer
disk management
and through a partition editor from HBCD.

In the screen shots, the 250 is my OS and the 1tb I want to be my storage drive.

If you need more info, please feel free to ask and I'll provide any additional information I can.

This is my server and I don't care about the data on the drive, unlike a lot of my customers, I back up the files I want to keep. I just want to get this 1tb back in working order.

That worked perfect, less than a minute I was done.

Question, what in my description of problems led you to that conclusion?

You can lead a horse to water and he'll drink if he's thirsty ;)
