Hi to all, this is my first post!
Hdd model:
WD 1600AAJS WD Caviar SE
MDL:WD 1600AAJS - 00PSA0
DATE: 21 AUG 2007
DCM: EHNNHHJCH
Well my HDD , first, worked fine, no s.m.a.r.t. errors, no bad blocks etc.
Last night i turned off my pc normaly, and when i turned on on this morning, bios stack detecting hdd. the WD 160 was not spining. i was confused because i have 2 hdd and I could not hear if both spins.i checked all the power cables and sata, removed the pcb and i cleaned the head contacts, but the hdd is'nt starting.
I read on the forum about the diodes and R0. i measured them and its fine. there is no frieded circuit, tvs diode or r0.
I connected the power cable, and then i traced the power circuit.5v was ok, next to q4 i get 3,33v.nothing on the pcb is heating. but this model uses 12 V?(or is just for protection-tvs diode!)
i was not able to trace.the 12v+ circuit go to tvs diode, next r0 (r64 on pcb), and on the other side of pcb, its a closed circuit!i looked more then 10 times.
I do that on old hdd, i coupled 5v+ gnd and no 12v+, hdd do not start...
In th end, i guess is not working if pcb is changed from a identical hdd!
Sorry for my bad english.
