Acer recovery partition help

November 12th, 2011, 17:47

Hi guys,

I've recently bought an Acer laptop and to cut a long story short I want to get rid of all the rubbish trial ware etc that comes with it. So I put a Windows 7 disk in and booted off it, it brought up the screen which enables me to view and delete/format the partitions on the hard drive. It showed three partitions one large 450Gb another one of 100Mb and and the third at 15Gb. It let me delete the smallest and format the other 450gb and put a clean winows 7 on. The 15Gb one however will not let me delete!!!! Only format, it's really annoying.

In disk management it shows up as unallocated space next to the 450Gb partition on C: I cannot do anything to it, when I right click all of the options are greyed out. When I look in properties it seems to be an MBR (Master Boot Record) ?? All I want to do is get rid of the 15Gb partition and add it to the big 450Gb.

I've also played around with diskpart but doesn't seem to work.

Im guessing Acer have put some sort of lock on it?

Please could any of you help, I'd prefer not to use third party if possible as I'm not very confident with them.

Thanks
