WD Scorpio Black 2.5" 7200 RPM 500 GB, BIOS detected 0.0 MB

Hi,

my 11 months old WD HD suddenly not functioning. this happened when i watching a movie, suddenly my system hung, then i restart my laptop, and that my nightmare started.
bios detected my HDD sizes 0.0 GB. i have tried following methods but all no luck:
1. put it to external and connect to windows machine, HDD detected by need to initialy before it can be use.
2. linux box detect no HDD
3. download various repairing tools but none working (some able to detect the HDD but unable to get or read any information, not even the serial number; while some totally detected nothing.)

my HDD just spin for 2-3 seconds, then it stop. it spin for 10 clicking (i take off the cover and check, of cause with some special equipments to provide clean place), then it stop.

anyone have any idea on this? i wonder is it the firmware problem or the head/reader?

please i really need help,

thanks in advance.

CF

Can be both but my bet is on heads. Replace and carry on or spend a lot of $ if it is worth it. PERIOD.
