WD failure playing music!

I don't have any experience with hard drives. Can you tell by the video if it is a pcb or mechanical problem and how it could be repaired?

This hdd came to me for free so I don't care to save its data.

Possibly stiction and media damage. If you don't care about data, just bin it. It would definitely cost you more to just care about it, instead of buying a new hdd.

If it's a stiction fault, and if you don't wish to pay for professional services (~US$650), then try some "percussive maintenance".
