The 5-digit "disabled code" needs to be input into Acer's proprietary password unlocking software. You'll probably find his software on the Internet.

AFF Repair Station supports all WD 2.5" & 3.5" drives.
http://hdd-tools.com/products/rrs/But it will cost you $49.95 but your data will be safe.
If you dont mind wiping your data then HDD Unlock is cheaper
http://www.hddunlock.com/will cost you $24.95 or $29.95

OK had some of these in here under PC laptop repair. How did you set the password? Did you do this one inside the BIOS so when you boot up your system the password is there on initial boot up? Or did you actually use the utility to set your password. Have you even taken this out of the machine and tried to see it on another computer? The ones that give problems here are ACER and AOpen to unlock this one. They do not accept the 5 digit codes. Depending on how you did this is how you can unlock this one.

I think that should have been "Hdd Error Code", not disabled code, but I'm not abslutely certain.
