Sounds very much like heads problem.
Nothing you can do DIY.
Requires head exchange in cleanroom to stand any chance of recovery.
Parts very expensive for this , so don't expect a $100 recovery.
Pm if you are prepared to ship to uk for quote.
Unless there is anyone on here nearer to you who can handle this.... guys?

I agree with pcimage, not a DIY job, specially if you consider it important data.
I don't know anyone around you, only in Europe.

I'm busy with one at the moment - not cheap, agreed.

Too right! Had loads in for recovery quotes, but few accept the costs.
These babies can gobble up $300 worth of parts pretty quickly!!

This particular baby (I prefer the term monster) managed to hold out, so no gobbling thankfully. Still, not my favourite!
