TVS Diode fried should i replace with...

January 29th, 2012, 1:48

hi there
the TVS diode on the pcb of my (Seagate Barracuda LP 500GB ST3500412AS FM CC32) is fried in an electric surge i removed the diode for data recovery purpose and and worked perfectly.
i have bought a new pcb with the same exact model ,my question is if i take the diode from the new pcb and replace it with the one of my old pcb should the hdd work safely again?
the diode of my old pcb has has a number on it which is 924 LEK but the new one number is 932 LEK will that make a difference.
off cource i tied the new pcb for data recovery but didn't workout for me
if i use the pcb (old one) without diode there is an overvoltage risk

Please don't ask the same question in multiple threads - be patient. :) This question has now been answered in your earlier thread:
